Texas Sweetheart

In July 2014, Mark Wilson, of Cleburne, TX, became the newest owner of this sharp-looking Rampside. He purchased it from Rolland Mouser of Colorado Springs, CO, who apparently had purchased it earlier that year from Gii Brougher of Springfield, OR, who had owned it since about 1994.

At the time of Mark's purchase, the truck had a 140 HP engine with the secondary carbs removed. The truck ran but needed work, which was completed in March 2020. The restoration included repainting the interior, cleaning and painting the bed, rebuilding the engine due to low compression in 3 cylinders, and installing a new fuel system, brakes, and tires. Mark said the mufflers are Harley and that he loves the sound, especially when starting the engine.

Mark shared some pictures in August 2020:

In October 2012, Gii shared a bit about what he had done to the truck. The 110 HP engine was rebuilt and balanced with TRW pistons, stainless steel rings, alternator, dual exhaust, and electric fuel pump. The clutch disk was spring-loaded and the flywheel was bolted. Outside, the paint was single-stage and the bed had epoxy paint. There was a toolbox also. Inside, the seats were re-upholstered red and white and a Kenwood stereo was installed, along with sound-deadening material. Here are some pictures from that era:
