Power Gliding

Douglas Musselman of Martinsburg, PA purchased this '65 Greenbrier in October 2002 and parted it out then scrapped it in June 2008. Douglas had the following to say about it shortly after purchasing it:

"I bought this van at an auction for $20 and it is restorable. It ran and drove it on the trailer to bring it home. I'm still waiting on the title. It has three black bench seats and a table in the middle between the seats. It also has window screens in four of the side windows, vent shades, West Coast mirrors, and chrome bumpers.

I don't know what I am going to do with it yet."

The engine date code is 1119RX, indicating a 110 HP, PowerGlide-equipped van. The build date of 11/19 fits in very well with the van's assembly month and delivery month of December so it's most likely the original engine.

Douglas eventually decided the van was too far gone to restore. He said the following after sending it to the boneyard:

"It has given up its life to make something else some day. One less '65 Greenbrier."

Very sad to see one go to the crusher, but sometimes that's the only feasible thing to do.
