A special part of Corvair Day was a ceremony to honor three fellows who have done a tremendous service for Canadian Corvair owners, as well as owners of any vehicle built by GM Canada.

Standing next to me (l-r) are Dave Low, Bob Beckim, and Roy Mercer. The three of them worked long and hard to create and then make the Vintage Vehicle Services department of GM Canada a success. They also rolled out the red carpet for Dave Newell during his research on Canadian Corvairs.

Dave and I created a plaque for each of them, recognizing their tireless efforts. It was an honor for me to present the plaques to them. It was also my first opportunity to meet the three of them in person.

Afterward, several of us retired to the hotel restaurant and listened to Dave, Bob, and Roy recount stories from their many years at GM Canada.
