Island living north of the border
Don Proctor of Campbell River, BC, is the newest (as of October, 2018) owner of this Greenbrier. Don shared:
"The guy I got it from in British Columbia said it was used in a nuclear plant in Washington state. It was supposed to be rust-free, but we all know how that goes once you start digging! So, now I plan to restore it so that I can drive it to Corvair meetings and conventions. I would like to keep everything original; however, from the factory, it was all white, which I do not like, so I plan on just having the belt line remain white. So far I have completely redone the brakes and they are now working well."
The engine date code T0824RU indicates a 1965 110 HP FC engine built on August 24, so it is very likely the van's original. The van also has a 4-speed transmission, and it appears to be original as well.
