Aqua Explorer
Greg & Jo Carlton of Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia, are now the proud owners of this Greenbrier. It arrived in Australia in November, 2019. They purchased it from Frank Lorenz in Florida, who had stored it for a few years after purchasing it from Kevin Fahy of Edgewater, FL. Jon Peters of Valley Center, CA owned the van before Kevin and Milt Simon owned it before Jon. The van has its original 110 HP engine (code T1105RX) with PowerGlide transmission. The engine was rebuilt at 95,000 miles and the van has now traveled over 140,000 miles!
Greg reported in January, 2020 that they were rebuilding the brakes and fuel system and hope to have it on the road soon. He said:
"The van was freighted from Florida to Long Beach, California then to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia then to Dubbo, New South Wales. We had a few hiccups with missing ships due to painful delays but I drove it yesterday and it makes it all worthwhile. It’s close to 'rego' (registered) now and we will do some rust repair on the roof. There is no rooftop rack on It now, like in the pictures below from 2003, and no holes, but it looks a bit patched up that we will fix."
He also shared some photos:
Between April and October 2020, Greg and some friends removed the entire roof on the Greenbrier to eradicate rust and fix previous repair attempts on the gutters, as well as remove a plate on the roof. They were able to re-use the lid and the original bows. Check out the amazing pictures below!
Greg, fantastic job! I love the white roof color.
In August, 2003, Jon shared the following photos:
From the photos above and the info from the data plate below, it looks like someone added a white stripe, which makes a nice color combination. Also, the van appears to have an original-style luggage rack.
